Uploading Companies

In Notabli, company records can be imported in bulk by uploading a CSV spreadsheet and mapping its columns to standard or custom company fields.

1. Uploading the CSV File

  1. Navigate to the Companies management dashboard.

  2. Locate the file upload box labeled Drop a CSV here or click to choose a file.

  3. Either drag and drop your spreadsheet into the container or click inside the box to open your file explorer and select the CSV file (such as company data.csv).

  4. Once selected, the system automatically redirects you to the Map columns setup screen.

2. Configuring Import Settings

At the top of the mapping page, configure the general rules for how Notabli identifies and processes the incoming company data:

  • Import name: Enter a descriptive identifier for the import session (for example, company data import) to help track its progress and status later.

  • Domain / email column: Select the CSV column containing company website domains or email addresses (such as Website URL). Notabli extracts the root domain to match existing organizations or create new company records without creating duplicates.

  • Company name column (optional): Specify the column containing the organization's display name, or keep the default Use domain as name setting. This value is applied only when a new company record is created.

Note: If your CSV contains contact information alongside company details, you can map contact columns during this same workflow. If no contact columns are mapped, Notabli will only import and update company data.

3. Mapping CSV Columns

The Column mapping table displays each column from your file alongside real sample values to help guide your selections:

  • CSV Column & Sample: Displays the original header name from your uploaded file and previews rows of live data from your spreadsheet.

  • Maps To Dropdown: For each row, select the matching destination field from the dropdown menu, which groups options by entity type (such as Company fields and Contact fields):

    • Map recognized attributes to their corresponding Notabli fields (e.g., map Company name to Company Name, Number of Employees to Number of Employees, City to City, Postal Code to Postal Code, or Industry to Parent Industry).

    • Select Skip for internal database IDs, unneeded tracking tags, or columns that do not have a corresponding field in Notabli.

4. Finalizing and Processing the Import

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the page to review your mapped attributes.

  2. Click the blue Start import button in the bottom-right corner.

  3. You will be redirected back to the Manage Companies view, where a notification banner will confirm:

Import "[Import Name]" is being processed.

  4. The system will continue running the import in the background and populate your company records once complete.
